Nottingham Engineering Training
Association (NETA) has been acquired by Castle College
Nottingham for an undisclosed sum in a move to further
strengthen the college’s position as a leading regional
training centre of excellence for the engineering
sector.
NETA is based in New Basford and is
Nottingham’s longest established
provider of
engineering training and advice to member companies
throughout the Midlands. The company also delivers
government funded adult learning programmes on behalf of
the Learning and Skills Council.
Nick Lewis, Principal and Chief
Executive, Castle College, says: “This is a key
strategic acquisition for Castle College and reflects
the synergy between the two organisations. NETA enjoys
a strong reputation for delivering high quality
engineering training that is responsive and sympathetic
to employer needs.
“The acquisition of NETA strengthens
further our learning portfolio and complements the
college’s future aspirations to become the regional
centre of excellence for Science, Technology and
Engineering. This is now one step closer
following the go-ahead for our plans to redevelop our
Maid Marian Way campus.
Valerie McKay, Managing Director, NETA,
says: “Our partnership with Castle College will enable
NETA to do what it does best – deliver quality learning
programmes that are employer-facing. All employees will
continue to fulfill their current roles, so it’s very
much business as usual for staff and employer-partners
alike.”
NETA employs 15 full-time and two
part-time staff at its offices in Nottingham.
