There are opportunities for Engineering apprenticeships at the moment and we
have more and more employers realising the potential available when training and
developing young people in their organisations. We have apprentices working in
all areas of Engineering which may include:
Manufacturing (Production) - Maintenance - Technical - Design - Electrical -
Mechanical - Fabrication and Welding - Sheet/Plate Metal - Structural. This list

1. There are no Costs for the employer involved in recruiting and training
the Apprentice other than Salary and Time to allow delivery of the
AA or
A framework. Free
Health and Safety advice will be given unless Systems are substantially
inadequate. In which case NETA (Through the
LSC) cannot fund an
Apprentice until it is up to standard.
2. The apprentice must be employed Full Time and the environment that he
or she is to work in MUST be safe. We are required to ensure that Health and
Safety systems are in place for all Learners. We offer a
Health and Safety
Service if you require at competitive rates.
3. The Apprentice, if already employed must be between the ages of 16 and
24, if not employed we will help you find a suitable Apprentice as part of the
Service. All apprentices will be required to sit a GenEd assessment package to
establish a starting point for their program.
4. The Employer will grant access to
NETA and
LSC Staff to deliver
the program and to audit
Health and Safety systems. This is normally every 4-6 weeks and is agreed
with the employer before hand, we understand that you have a business to run so
we try and work around your work commitments.
5. Should the Apprentice be required to go to college, this is funded by
ourselves but in return we ask for the apprentice to be given paid time to
complete his or her framework off the job.
6. Commitment from the employer to train the Apprentice.
