Description

Balfour Beatty Rail Track Systems is the specialist track manufacturing business of Balfour Beatty Rail, the UK's major rail engineering company. Operating in a buoyant market they are a growing business and as such they now have an opportunity for a Process Engineer and a Production Design Engineer to join them at their site in Sandiacre, Nottingham.

The Process Engineer would be responsible for the generation of manufacturing instructions, which will involve liaising with production personnel to develop effective production routes and resolve production and site associated problems. You would be operating a standard database for generation of Bills of Material, routes, process times and manufacturing instructions and maintaining records.

The Production Design Engineer role involves liaising with other client's permanent way scheme designers and configuring special track system layout drawings and manufacturing details to pre-determined standards. The successful candidate will also be required to liaise with production personnel and assist them in resolving production and site-associated problems. You would be involved in generating 2D general arrangements using HP ME10 CAD, operating a manufacturing database to create Bills of Material, manufacturing instructions and maintaining records.

For either role, you will have, or be studying towards, an ONC/HNC in Mechanical Engineering, possess effective communication skills and have at least two years previous experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within rail engineering, A good awareness of safety and quality aspects in this environment is also desirable, along with the essential knowledge of manufacturing systems and the relevant computer experience as highlighted for each role.
